Air Flight Service began aerial photographic services in 1974, providing basic vertical, oblique and scenic photos for local real estate companies.

Today we not only provide photography to federal, state, county and city agencies through out California, but also the Western U.S. including the Hawaiian islands and many other South Pacific and Western Pacific islands.

We also maintain an extensive library of current and historical photography.

Air Flight Service (AFS) owns and operates five aircraft which are specifically modified to accommodate a variety of camera systems including multi-spectral digital and LIDAR systems and state-of-the-art mapping cameras.  In addition to our camera systems, our aircraft are also available to customers for installation of their own sensor packages.

We not only provide airborne platforms for small, private company R&D projects, but also provide air support on a continuing basis directly to BAE, NASA, and various government contractors such as LOCKHEED-MARTIN, HONEYWELL, GENERAL DYNAMICS, BECHTEL and others.

In 1994 we began providing precise airborne GPS camera positioning to various customers.  Currently we are providing not only GPS camera positioning, but also precise camera orientation parameters by integrating APPLANIX P.O.S. (Position and Orientation System) and IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) systems to our cameras and sensors.

This combination of Airborne GPS with the IMU systems allows many mapping projects to be flown with little, and in some cases, no ground control required.
